Mrs. McDowell's 5th grade clas has been working very hard this year! One of our main has been in math. The students have been challenging their monstrous ability inorder to increase their math skill, development, and deductive reasoning.

Math Help at Home:Here are some ways to continue math adventures at home:
Grocery Shopping!
- What 10 year old doesn't love to throw in a bag of cookies into the shopping cart? Well let them shop at home ahead of time. Give your child a grocery ad ahead of time and ask them to circle some of their favorite wish list items. Then give them a piece of paper and pencil to have them add up the total cost. This provides practice of adding up decimals, subtracting decimals, and multiplying decimals. Delicious!

Another major focus this year has been in writing development! The students have been asked to concentrate on writing format while including literary writing techniques. Here's how we spice up our writing:
