WELCOME TO SIXTH GRADE & MRS. PLEGER'S CLASS !
Sixth grade is a transition year as we begin to prepare ourselves for the JUNIOR HIGH routines and more difficult learning concepts. Here are some of the things we have been studying so far this year.
We have just completed two units in Reading/ Literature: Perseverance and Ancient Civilizations. Before Christmas students also enjoyed a special theatre performance downtown of "A Little House Christmas" and even got to speak with the actors afterwards. Look for more details coming soon on our next unit beginning in the middle of January!
Recent Social Studies topics focused on Mesopotamia and Ancient Egyptian Civilization. Students had fun creating a topographical map of Egypt. We will start learning about the Israelites and ancient Greece next.
In Science we did lab experiments testing mineral and rock properties and will start to learn about volcanoes soon.
